Implementasi Aplikasi Hotspot Dalam Kegiatan Presensi Mahasiswa

Abstract

The need for doing attendance is a way to show student’s commitment toward a course. There is research about how
attendance affects student academic grades, so it is common to find university making attendance as a prerequisite for clearing a
course. The problem for attendance research was data inaccuracy. There are factors such as human error and student integrity
that could cause inaccuracy. Aside from those problem, conventional attendance is such a lengthy process, because conventional
attendance using queue system. To tackle this problem there are two studies referring toward this problem, the first one is router
attendance system and the second one is gps qr code attendance system. Each of them has their own weakness, for example for
router attendance, there is no credential, so attendance is easily filled by standing at router signal range. The solution is adding
credentials but adding credentials could lead to attendance speed reduction. On the other hand, by using gps student location
easily manipulated using gps spoof tool. The good side of gps research is the usage of qr code, because it is a great tool for
exchanging information. The final goal is making use of qr code as credential filling tool, so there is no need to compromise filling
speed for applying credential
